Breaking Free

Himangshu is an introverted young man from India, who lacks the confidence to make decisions for himself. He is at the mercy of his uncle, Jibi with whom he is staying with in Berlin, he is caring but close-minded and strict and does not accept Himangshu's German girlfriend Lina. The conflict starts when Himangshu brings his girlfriend to Jibi’s place where they have a big argument. When Lina defends Himangshu, Jibi throws Lina out of the house and Himangshu doesn't say anything. Himangshu wants to go for Lina but Jibi stops him. We see him looking for Lina and trying to contact her but no answer. At one point he is at Jibi’s house and his mom talks to him, he explains to her why he doesn't want to stay with Jibi any longer. Himangshu goes to the temple in shorts where he is not allowed to go inside the temple as he is dressed inappropriately. Jibi gets him a cloth to wrap around and goes inside the temple Himangshu refuses, Jibi gets really angry when Himangshu pushes him and leaves. Later he finds a job at a local bar. Four months later he is still working at the bar, Lina comes to the bar and he sees her there and he goes to talk with her. Himangshu and Lina talk in a friendly manner, we understand that time has passed. Himangshu apologizes to her and tells her he just wants to be on good terms, that's all. Himangshu doesn't expect anything from Lina anymore due to the previous events with his Uncle but she gives him one last hope of getting together by inviting him to a concert. Himangshu smiles in the final shot.
