Mau, a sensitive and curious 10-year-old boy, tries to convince his mom to visit his best friend Lucas' house, as there is a pending promise between them. Faced with his mother's scolding and refusal, Mau decides to escape from his home to look for Lucas himself. On his journey, he seeks to hide from loneliness and clings to his search, while his mother tries to discover the best way to accompany him in a world that seems increasingly empty.
