Hava

Directed by Joonyoung Kim

Synopsis:
A Turkish girl living in another country trying to get rid of an unpleasant smell that the people around her cannot smell while feeling detached from the world - her home, family, friends, and previous love.

Director Statement:
The world is connected more than ever. Taking a flight to go to other countries and calling family members from the other side of the earth is not that luxurious activity anymore. But ironically, many of the young generation of the time feel lonely and isolated. The film tells the story of a girl living in another country, who feels disconnected from the world, trying to find the source of her feeling emptiness in her seemingly okay life. This film is an attempt to depict and highlight the subtle, but dangerous, seed of mental health problems the young generation has, that we often don’t pay attention to, which can ultimately harm the health of the whole community.
