Racist Journal

Directed by Elena Ottavi

Synopsis:
Andrea reflects on their being racist in a stream of consciousness, visually accompanied by an ordinary day in their life, from turning off the alarm clock to going to bed at night. Does a racist live a life like ours?

Director Statement:
The title of the film - Racist Journal - I think is explanatory of the theme it deals with. More specifically, the purpose of the film is to lead the viewer to question the perception of self in relation to racism and anti-racism, aiming at the recognition of self as part of an inherently racist society. The realization of being part of the problem is the first fundamental step toward the solution.
