LIGHT-24
Directed by Denys Borysovsky
Synopsis:
How does light affect us, and is it really where we are looking for it? The author seeks answers to these questions by observing three Ukrainian families who find themselves without electricity during the blackout period in the winter of 2023 caused by constant Russian shelling of Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
Director Statement:
This film is a look at our modern life, where family comfort is dictated by the availability of electricity. However, any benefits of civilization do not compare to human light. So, even in the darkest times of blackouts caused by Russian shelling of civilian infrastructure, people themselves can be a source of light.
