Tail of Women and Wolves
Directed by Giulia Pandolfini
Synopsis:
The whole story is a metaphor on the theme of Violence on Women and it’s told with a continuous Voice-over by a Narrator who’s eyes will never be shown. It’s the story of a day of a female Wolf : she passes her time walking alone in the woods, she’s a solitary wolf and she lives by herself far from her herd. The Narrator is intrigued by the Wolf and from observing the Wolf’s body she switches to elaborating on the woman’s condition first through cultural symbolism and then by making clear statements about some Women’s issues. Finally, the Narrator switches again to the present life of the Wolf and narrates about an episode of sexual violence experienced by the Wolf from a herd of Jackals. The Story ends with the Narrator asking the audience a rethoric question about sexual assault.
Director Statement:
My goal with this project is to create a product that is visually beautiful, with a creative story that raises awareness on the issues of Violence against Women, Sexual Assault and Body Objectification while also reflecting on the present concept of Feminine Condition by using Culture as an educating device both to serve the story and to open the audience prospective to a different approach of storytelling which will encourage them to understand the meaning of a story also by the cultural references that are in it.
